1. What are dermal fillers?
Dermal Fillers are Hyaluronic Acid, which is part of our body. Approximately 50-60% of Hyaluronic Acid in the body is found in the skin.
Dermal fillers are used for facial aesthetic treatments and are injected under the skin. They are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalize the skin.
2. How do dermal fillers work?
Dermal fillers add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel which is long lasting but not permanent.
3. What are the benefits of dermal filler?
Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 3-12months. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control you looks subtly as you age.
4. What areas can be treated?
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalize the skin.
The most common areas treated are:

Mouth to Chin lines (nasio-mental lines)
Corner of the mouth

Initial consultation
Actual procedure:
Dermal filler is injected under the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips.
Dermal filler products improve the elasticity and texture of skin, restoring and improves the skin’s hydro balance.
The treatment is quick, typically taking about 15-30 minutes.
Treatment with dermal fillers is painless, does not affect facial expression and the benefits can normally be seen instantly. However the best results often show after 2 days as they settle under the skin.
After initial treatment:
Dermal filler products are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6-12 months after your initial treatment, depending on the material used.
After a treatment some reactions might occur, these include; are slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days.

One of the great advantages of dermal filler treatment is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle, age and most importatntly the Filler material used.
The softer filler material: has a smaller gel particle size give nicer, more natural look and feel happen to do NOT last quite as long, often 3- 12 months. This is the one we most often use, and strongly recommended for patient getting filler done for the first time
The filler with larger filler particle look and feels not as natural but they do last longer, often 6 to 12 months.
