A dental crown is require when a tooth becomes cracked, damaged or decayed. A crown acts as a permanent cap over the original tooth. The function of a dental crown firstly is to protect and strengthen the tooth. Secondly it restoring that tooth to its original shape, size and aesthetics.
Dental Bridge is a series of connected crowns. Bridge replace missing teeth by bridging the gap and using the surrounding teeth as abutments.
The process of dental crowns and dental bridges
Work is completed in two visits.
First visit
Firstly, you can choose the colour for your new teeth. The dentist will then prepare the tooth/teeth. This involve removal of any decay, disease bit of tooth.
Secondly, the dentist will use Trios machine to take digital images the prepared teeth. Finally we will send those information to our technicians. The skilful technician will create the dental crown or bridge using those information.
During this period a temporary crown or bridge made out of acrylic resin is fitted onto the tooth.
Second visit
About 2 weeks later. We will remove the temporary restoration. The new crowns or bridges is cemented into place.
