Cerec (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a method of CAD/CAM dentistry. This technology developed at the University of Zurich in 1980 for creating dental restorations.
Using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing), this process allows our dentists to make and insert individual ceramic restorations in one single appointment. Therefore patient do not have to walk around with temporary restorations. In the other words Cerec is a more convenience way to get a single or multiple single ceramic restoration.
Firstly, Best Western dental use Cerec laser camera to capture and create a 3D image of your teeth. Secondly we then design your new restoration on a computer screen.
Thirdly, the milling machine will turn the virtual restoration into a physical restoration. This mean the milling machine cut a porcelain block into the designed porcelain restoration.
Finally the perfect-fit restoration will get polish and going through further processing by our dental technician.
When completed, it will be placed in your mouth in the same day.
Cerec ceramic restorations are natural looking, smooth, white and hard-wearing, just like the enamel surface of your teeth.
